The beloved British actor discusses her Super Bowl Game Day ad spot with Oikos yogurt—and gave us "scoop" in more fun ways than one.

Juno Temple Just Hinted at ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4

Juno Temple is no stranger to football, both the American and European versions. Temple was Emmy-nominated for her work on the Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso, where she played spunky Keeley Jones, whose arc saw her transform from model and player girlfriend to PR and marketing mogul.
The fan-favorite show ended in 2023 (though we may have an update on that!), but Temple has stayed busy since. Recently, she had a notable season-long role on FX’s Fargo, earning another Emmy nomination.
Now Temple is returning to TV in another football-adjacent role, except this time she’s teaming up with Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett for a new Super Bowl ad all about Oikos’s high-protein yogurt. (Reflecting on how American football measures up to her native English, she says in the States we treat Super Bowl Sunday festivities “almost like Christmas.”)
Ahead, the 35-year-old actress discusses her relationship to both nutrition and American football…and answers everyone’s burning question about a possible Ted Lasso spin-off.
This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
The Healthy by Reader’s Digest: Juno, we were recently impressed to learn that some Oikos yogurt contains around 20 grams of protein per serving! Let’s talk about where nutrition fits in for you. How important is it?
Juno Temple: I mean, it’s a lifeline, isn’t it? It’s a way to kind of keep your body going with your brain. I think my brain moves at a pace that I want to make sure I keep up with it; sometimes I also want it to slow down! But I think that nutrition is the way that you fuel your body to make sure that you can be there for the people that need you to be there throughout the day, whether that’s at work, whether that’s at home, whether that’s to loved ones halfway across the world, it doesn’t matter. I think to be present, you need to fuel your body, and doing that in ways where it’s also enjoyable is something that I think is an important balance to find, right? Because when it just becomes only about fuel, you start to resent it. And then when it’s only about enjoyment, you start to resent yourself.
I think the balance is complicated. And I think, as any human alive today would probably say that they have a weird reaction to one thing and then something else makes their insides feel great. Different bodies react differently, right? So, it’s also about finding what makes you feel energized but also comfortable in your own skin, because I think that’s something that in today’s society is not always easy.
The Healthy: Definitely, and thinking about pro sports is a great reminder of how food impacts our energy. Have you ever noticed any difference in the way that Americans enjoy our football, compared to the way you do in the U.K. or Europe?
Juno Temple: Something that seems so special about the Super Bowl is that it feels like it is a moment to get your family, your friends, your loved ones together in one space, almost like Christmas, to gather and chill together and hang out and watch the final game and the halftime performance. It feels like it’s a celebration. Maybe the World Cup is when I see that in the U.K. or the European Cup or Premier League things, but it’s not normally the whole family gets together. I mean, I don’t sit down and watch the football with my brothers, who are football nuts. One [brother] is a poet and one is a graphic designer and an astrophysicist, but then it comes to football and they both become these [makes yelling noises]. It’s a whole new breed. I am not sure that English football has an equivalent to the actual Super Bowl, but I would also say English football is like a religion in the U.K., for sure.
The Healthy: Ted Lasso still has such a devoted following, so we have to ask: Is there any spin-off news?
Juno Temple: Of course, people have been asking me that, and the joy of that is that people are interested in more of it. And I think the joy of making the past three seasons and being a part of that team … Truly that team was something that I will forever be grateful for and will forever just hold a huge part of warmth in my heart, and I also have heard that there is potential for a season four. The details, unfortunately, I don’t know, but it does sound like the cogs are kind of turning in that direction and I feel like I should be so lucky.
And if we get to do more Ted Lasso, I do think that Keeley Jones would be an Oikos Triple Zero [fan].
The Healthy: We love that. Tell us one self-care habit you refuse to skip.
Juno Temple: Moisturizing. And I take the time—it’s like a good 15, 20-minute process for me. I will really enjoy properly moisturizing my body. I like a mixture of an oil for my body and a cream; I like to do a bit of both. And then I’ve got curly hair, so I’ve got oil for my hair I like to put in. And then when it comes to body lotions and things, I would say I do tend to lean towards more natural products. I like a natural, I just feel like your body actually drinks it more. I have different moisturizers for different parts of my body, and I really do enjoy it and take the time. I think it’s a big thing for me.
I grew up watching my grandmother do it—my grandmother would have her time after bath, shower, whatever, and she would sit in front of her vanity in her robe, and she would take the time to just take care of herself. I just remember it fondly as such a beautiful moment. And I love my grandmother so much—she’s been a huge inspiration for me my whole life. There’s something very whimsical about that, that I like that kind of 15 minutes for myself at the end of the day.
